It’s common knowledge that Labrador retrievers are excellent water dogs, but one ridiculous Labrador named Max is taking things to a whole new level. You know, Max, the yellow labrador retriever, has this strange belief that he is a mermaid, and it’s quite difficult to keep him away from the water. In a video for the organization We Love Animals, Christine, Max’s owner, explains how the dog was saved after his previous owners decided that they no longer wanted him.
Before he met Christine, Max’s previous existence was marked by neglect due to the fact that his parents did not prioritize his well-being. They allowed him to gain an unhealthy amount of weight, even though it was causing him health problems. Max’s veterinarian suggested that Christine take him swimming as a means to begin his weight loss journey, and boy, was that a hit with both of them!
Christine was initially concerned that something was amiss when she saw Max jump into the water, but she soon understood that he was doing it on purpose.
“All you see are the dog’s hind legs poking out, and then he’s disappeared. “I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard in my entire life,” Christine remarked. “It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen.”
Strangely enough, Max isn’t a fan of any type of water. In fact, he hates taking a bath and has little use for swimming pools. On the other hand, he enjoys fishing in natural bodies of water such as lakes, ponds, and oceans! Watch the video that’s been provided down here:
