Tofu the rescue dog found at a Romanian kill shelter when he was only 4 months old. Rosanne Van Zanten came across a picture of the adorable puppy on the internet and realized she had to help her. Tofu had to travel from Romania to her new home in the Netherlands over three days, but the hard voyage was well worth it in the end.
Tofu was terrified when she first arrived at her new home. She had never experienced so much love and kindness before, and she didn’t know what to do with it. She was afraid of a lot of things, but flowers gave her peace.
Tofu was different from her Border Collie sister, Se, right from the start. Tofu acted more like a cat than a dog. Instead of playing, she preferred to huddle in warm areas and slumber. Tofu, unlike most dogs, disliked going outside, even during her daily walks.
It’s unclear what happened to Tofu when she was a puppy, but she was frightened. She was terrified of everything as a puppy, including men, children, other dogs, and even food. She always felt safe in a warm, comfortable environment with a bed or blanket.
As a result, Van Zanten created a customized ‘fortress’ bed for Tofu to ensure that she is always comfy. Tofu appears to be happier than she has ever been when she sleeps in these specially designed beds. Van Zanten now makes identical beds for other anxious dogs, and Tofu serves as a model for new goods.
While these cute beds have made Tofu feel more at ease, they aren’t the only thing that has helped her. Tofu like two types of outside activities, according to Van Zanten: snow and flowers. She enjoys playing in the snow, but her passion for flowers is even more stunning.
Tofu first saw a flower field when she was about 8 months old. Her usual fears vanished when she was near the flowers. Instead, she sat in the middle of the flowers, carefully hopping among them.
If given the chance, Tofu would happily sit in a field of flowers for the rest of his life. She just appears to be at ease and happy in their presence. As a result, Van Zanten began photographing Tofu whenever she went to see some flowers.
Van Zanten has taken Tofu to every flower field they can locate since she discovered the beauty of flowers. She captures Tofu’s pleasant moments among the beautiful flora on film. The adorable rescue dog treats the flowers as though they were her buddies.
Tofu feared her life was about to end when she was a puppy. But, because of her wonderful new family, she has discovered a new sense of purpose in life. Tofu knows she’s safe now, thanks to her nice bed and lovely flowers.
