A dog and its owner share a tremendous tie of affection that can never be severed. These connections can occasionally form when both humans and dogs are still very young. And it’s always rewarding to see those friendships develop. And in the video that follows, a rescue puppy who had recently been adopted by its family shows that it was already fairly at ease with the family’s youngest member.

A Catahoula-Pit Bull mix named Callie was seen playing with the family’s infant. The infant, however, had already fallen asleep. Since Callie was starting to feel tired herself, the already sweet scene of the two newborns together was going to get even cuter. Given that she was just three months old and that she was observing her buddy napping, it was understandable for her to want to take a nap as well.

The puppy’s eyes started to become very heavy. She was still standing, but it was obvious that she was starting to nod off. The small dog gradually began to slip to the ground while also starting to nod off on her feet. How cute! She looked for a comfortable position as she began to relax. For Callie, who was only partially awake, it was difficult to settle in. Callie initially tried sleeping on top of the infant, but when that didn’t work, she tried lying down on the ground with her head first on the blanket.
From behind the camera, her owner and the child’s father can be heard addressing Callie and saying, “Do you not know how to lay down honey?”

Callie ultimately decided to take a nap right on the infant’s head because she wasn’t sure what else to do. She used the head of her sleeping partner as a pillow. That is when she began to doze off. Not long after closing her eyes, she started to nod off and snore. Her wheezes were adorable little wheezes.
Her owners chuckle before attempting to awaken the sleeping dog. Callie only stirs momentarily to switch positions before falling back asleep on top of the infant’s head.
