You can disregard professional sports as we currently know them. Better alternatives are on the horizon. There’s a chance that a pet-only league will exist one day given how many clips we’ve seen of animals learning various sports. Soccer players, then hockey goalies—everything from the traditional Air Bud on. Pets do everything! Pet leagues are going to be huge, we’re telling you.

From TikTok doggo @maggiethegoalie, we’ve seen one of the more outstanding sporting animals. This German Shepherd is the ideal hockey goaltender because of her cat-like reflexes. No puck will be able to pass her if you put her in the goal. Even NHL teams are lined up to sign her because of how remarkable her saves are. Look at this! Then perhaps rewind it into slow motion so you can see what is happening. LOL!
The 2-year-old German Shepherd and her owner, Yannick Devost, reside in New Brunswick. In a typical Canadian manner, Devost enjoys watching hockey, and it appears that he has passed that enthusiasm down to his dog! Having received hockey goalkeeper training, Maggie is now an accomplished goalie. Devost told CTV Atlantic News, “She always had excellent reflexes. Even as a young puppy, it was clear that she had a natural talent for catching and retrieving objects thrown her way.

Devost decided to put her natural, exceptional ball-catching abilities to the test. He gradually exposed Maggie to hockey while teaching the dog the fundamental commands for the game. She quickly rose to the status of professional goalie! Please let us know if you noticed. We had to rewatch it a few times to make sure she did catch the puck. Rest assured—she did! Amazingly impressive! They are using a rubber puck, so relax.
