A cute little pooch did something unexpected but sweet. Jax, a hairy 7-year-old, donated blood to save the life of an ailing puppy. Jennifer Fowler, Jax’s mother, and a veterinarian said her dog is thrilled to help.

“He appreciates all types of treatment and remains still throughout any procedure.” On the day I gave blood, we had a critically anemic puppy that was on the point of death. A transfusion was required since the puppy’s body was practically devoid of red blood cells.
Jennifer points out that such donations are rare, and that veterinary staff members occasionally donate their dogs to help lighten the situation when it is not risky.

The woman’s husband drove Jax to the clinic, which was 10 minutes away from their home.
Jennifer mentions:
“He was ecstatic to see everyone and stood perfectly still as we shaved and cleaned a small patch of fur on his neck to make the area sterile.”

He waited for about 30 seconds while they withdrew blood from his neck, wagging his tail and receiving kisses, and he never whimpered.
“It took about 30 seconds, and she got a lot of treats and a high-calorie snack of wet food, as well as some water, and she got to spend the rest of the afternoon in a pretty comfortable bed.”

Jax’s mother is not the only one who admires his boldness. It seemed as though he recognized he had helped and was satisfied after seeing his dog happy.
Jennifer explained:
“Due to the puppy’s small size, that bag was enough for three transfusions.” The puppy improved dramatically and returned home a few days later.”
Without a doubt, the dog is delighted that by donating blood, he was able to save another puppy, and everyone is proud of his bravery. Jax is a great young boy.
