This stray cat never left this abandoned dog’s side till he found his family.
Stray animals rely on human generosity to survive on the street. They have no idea where to get food or how to stay warm. Humans must demonstrate compassion for these animals.
Some strays find solace in each other. They may be animals, but they can communicate. You’d think they take better care of each other than we do.
Sadly, the dog’s prior owners abandoned him. Residents of Unit 103 were moved to a senior care facility where dogs were not allowed. The dog had to be left outside the apartment.
The dog sat outside the entrance, watching the humans. He was scanning the crowd for a familiar face. The residents knew and pity the dog. He’s been out for six months.
For months, the stray cat has followed the dog.
He probably felt that they shared a narrative because they met on the street. They found solace in each other and never parted. It’s very cute how they cuddle at night.
Residents observed the cute pair and fed them occasionally. They left food in bowls. One resident even built a temporary shelter for the two so they could be warm and dry when it was cold outside.
But as winter neared, residents’ fears grew. Since no one claimed or wanted these animals, they called animal rescue services. It was hard to catch them because the dog and cat were suspicious.
They just want to be safe together. It took a day to capture the dog and the cat.
After the successful rescue, a resident cried. “It’s nice they’re safe, but I’m scared. “I hope they meet a wonderful family who truly loves animals,” she told the Kritter Klub crew.
They were taken to the vet for a checkup.
Unlike most feral animals, both were healthy, free of sickness, infection, or parasites. The veterinarian also suggested the apartment complex’s residents must have taken good care of them.
She was relieved that the dog and cat were safe. Her main wish is for them to be happy and healthy. Everyone wanted them to be adopted together because they had a close bond.
