Ginger can be seen seated next to a girl in this scene. She is well-behaved, but it appears that she is a little bit anxious about what is about to take place when the nail clippers are presented to her. She needs persuading to give her paw. Ginger is so stubborn that the woman has to lift her paw.
She must be aware of what is going to happen since as soon as she starts clipping, she remains to look hesitant about the entire situation. A thought then comes to her that she may act as if she is fainting to get out of having her nails clipped, which would be preferable to the alternative. Ginger does a comical eye roll and then slowly falls backward, landing on her back with her legs spread apart in the air. The whole thing is rather amusing.
