Finding a dog a forever home is usually wonderful news. The loveliest things can happen when a dog reacts to learning that they have finally been adopted. One shelter pittie was like that; she was so thrilled to meet her new owner that she couldn’t stop hugging him. Mary and Mark McCraw, a married couple, reportedly sought to rescue a new dog after their beloved Mischka passed away from cancer, according to The Dodo.
But soon after, they came across Maggie, a shelter dog in need of a home, and Mary says the animal “melted my heart.” After their initial encounter with Maggie, their intuition that it was meant to be was verified. When Maggie first meets her new “dad,” in a priceless moment caught on tape, she leaps up on him and won’t stop licking his face:
Pitties From Heaven, a South Carolina pit bull foster who had been caring for Maggie, posted the video. They were glad to see such a pleasant occasion as the dog left for her new home. They wrote on TikTok, “It’s like they’ve known each other forever. “We foster because of this. A neglected dog finally joins a family at this point. Mary McCraw told The Dodo, “I bent down so she wouldn’t be intimidated, and within seconds she was on my lap and in my life.
“Meeting her was love at first sight; we connected right away. She seems to have been destined for our family. A happy ending for a couple trying to fill the emptiness left by their cherished canine as well as a pit bull in need of a suitable home was destined to happen. Former foster parent Andra Mack described Maggie as “one of the sweetest dogs we have ever fostered” and claimed the experience was “like a movie.”
Andra told The Dodo that “they were meant to be together.” “I think their old dog, Mischka, was looking down on that meeting and smiling,” says the author. “The ray of sunshine that is visible in the film.”
