Last month, volunteers from the Brazilian animal advocacy organization Viva Bicho Santos saved a scared stray dog that had been discovered weeping on the streets. The dog, whom they named Samanta, was not only pregnant but also in very bad condition. Sadly, Samanta’s delicate body turned out to be too frail to take her babies to term despite being in wonderful hands. Despite their absence, she still had maternal instincts.
Samanta’s rescuers made every effort to cheer her up after the loss of her young. They bought her presents in the hope that they might lessen her sorrow. They seemed to merely serve as a reminder of what she had lost, though.
To get her to play, “we dropped various toys on the floor, but we watched that she picked them up one by one and took them to her bed,” said Viva Bicho Santos in a post. Samanta treated the toys as though they were her children, and she is currently licking and caring for them.
Samanta used this as a sweet but bitter way to cope. Samanta had a lot of love to give, but ultimately, the toys she adored and spoiled as a mother would never return the favor. But rescuers were aware of another person who could.
A younger stray dog named Sara had lately been taken in by Samanta’s rescuers; she appeared anxious and lonely in the absence of a parent. It was therefore determined that they should meet. Their hearts were soon restored to health. Rescuers noted, “And that’s how Samanta received a new daughter.” Please stop crying now. just love that Sara and Samanta have become inseparable.
Although Samanta’s damaged body still needs some time to fully recuperate, her heart is also recuperating thanks to Sara. And maybe, Samanta and Sara will experience even more love with an adoptive family in their very own forever home when the time is perfect.
