This week, a paw-sitively cute ceremony took place at an animal shelter in the state of Texas, when two puppies tied the knot.
In a news release issued by the San Antonio Humane Society on May 18, the organization introduced the public to Peanut and Cashew, two chihuahua mixes who recently tied the knot at the facility. When the two puppies had their dental procedures, they encountered each other, and it was “love at first sight.”

During his health journey, Peanut, age 9, became acquainted with Cashew, age 3. As a result of the inability of both sets of owners to continue providing care for the pups, the canines were surrendered to the medical building of the Humane Society, where they developed an inseparable attachment.

“Today, the SAHS hosted a modest wedding ceremony for a couple who met at the shelter to commemorate their love and recovery journey. The ceremony was attended by staff members, volunteers, and their closest friends. The occasion featured a breathtaking procession down the aisle, as well as bubbles, music, and, of course, cake “according to the animal shelter.

The SAHS is pleased to announce that Peanut and Chestnut are now available for adoption, and they are both very happy to get to know their new families. Peanut and Cashew do not have to travel back to their respective homes together, although we hope they will prolong their “fur-ever” honeymoon together for the rest of their lives. After all, it was just a brief affair during the summer. What is the proverb that goes like this? ‘Til adoption do us part? Something along those lines!” SAHS said.
