A video of a Rottweiler named Axel cuddling up with his mom after receiving no affection from anyone else at the park went popular on social media. As a result, the internet is in tears over the adorable moment. The video was uploaded to TikTok by the dog’s owner under the nickname Nala the needy rottie. In it, a Rottweiler can be seen sitting on a couch and seeking solace in his mother’s arms as the dog hugs and kisses her.
Since being posted on Tik Tok the clip has received over 9.1 million views and 1.1 million likes. Its description reads: “He went to the park today, but no one was interested in petting him. It shocks him that nobody pays any attention to him…” Based on the statistics provided by the American Kennel Club, Rottweilers are currently the eighth most common dog breed in the United States (AKC).
They are known to be highly passionate with members of the family, and at the same time, they are very protective of those individuals. Rottweilers are intelligent, hardworking, and keen to please. Because of these qualities, they can be committed companions, service animals, therapy dogs, guide dogs, border control inspectors, and more.
The AKC claims that while they may have the ability to be aggressive, they can also become incredibly kind and loving if they are taught properly and socialized, so while they do have a reputation for being vicious attack dogs, that still doesn’t truly define them.
