What are some similarities that exist between a pit bull and a well-known flavor of ice cream? Both of these treats have the name “Cherry Garcia,” and they are equally loaded with sugar. Just take a look at him playing with these little kittens.

Cherry is a loving dog, but he hasn’t always been able to show it because he was previously a member of Michael Vick’s notorious dog fighting ring before he was finally saved and rehomed. Despite his loving nature, Cherry hasn’t always been permitted to show it. Vick was a quarterback in the National Football League who was found guilty in 2007 of forcing dogs on his farm in Virginia to fight against one other.

Cherry Garcia was one of more than 50 dogs that were taken away from his care. Among them was Cherry Garcia. Because the poor dog had been severely traumatized, this was only the first step on a long road to rehabilitation; nevertheless, in 2010, he was adopted by a loving family, and he now enjoys his days swimming, snuggling, and hanging out with kittens.

Cherry was recognized by BarkPost just recently as part of their “Dog’s Best Day” series of awards. During one day, the pampered pit bull received more love and attention than any other dog’s heart could desire. Watch the video and judge for yourself what happened.
Cherry’s owner Paul Fiaccone said to BarkPost, “Cherry simply loves his kittens, he has two kitties now and he loves to play with them.” Watch the following video to see Cherry Garcia’s best day ever:
