Luke, the Australian Shepherd dog, thinks the same way that almost every human youngster does: if he’s not permitted to do something, it’s more fun! He’s been causing as much trouble as he can since moving into his new house a few months ago. He enjoys chewing on anything he can get his hands on, especially if he knows it’s not for him.

Luke’s behavior is vexing most of the time, but it does occasionally make his humans giggle. His decision to get his head jammed in a pumpkin is a fantastic illustration!
Most puppies are compelled to dress up in whatever ridiculous costumes their owners come up with for Halloween. Luke, on the other hand, despises being told what to do! Luke’s mother, Becca Ann Hoerner, was well aware of this, which is why she rarely leaves the naughty pup alone. Nonetheless, she decided that it would be fine if she left him at home for only 15 minutes one day. She was just wrong!

Luke planned to cause as much havoc as he could in those 15 minutes. This year, he also wanted to choose his own Halloween outfit. He quickly settled on a jack-o-lantern decoration, which, when he chewed through the bottom, fit perfectly over his head. The only issue was that he was unable to remove it!
“We pulled up to the house, and my husband went in with the luggage, but then ran out laughing hysterically,” Hoerner recalled. “He called for me to come in, and the only information he gave me was, ‘You have to see this.’ I was scared right away until I arrived at the door and saw Luke greeting me with a huge bobbly pumpkin stuck on his head!”

Some dogs might be bothered by the presence of a large pumpkin head, but Luke was unconcerned. With the pumpkin on, he was just as happy and energetic as he was without it. When his parents arrived, he hurried to welcome them, attempting to see through the pumpkin’s eyeholes rather than attempting to remove them.
Luke’s misbehavior didn’t seem to be affected by his pumpkin costume. He continues to try to get into things he shouldn’t. Hoerner is scared to leave Luke alone again because Luke most likely leaped on the table to take the pumpkin as soon as they left the house that one time. Before he got his head caught, the stem had been bitten off.
