This is the heartbreaking moment when the unfortunate stray dog finds that kind people exist. The dog, who was large and pregnant, was exploring the streets looking for food when she came across a couple having lunch by the side of the road. The unexpected adoption was too much for the stray pit bull who had been hoping for scraps all along. It was while Jacks Anderson and his wife were buying food from a street vendor that they first saw the black pit bull mix.

Anderson told The Dodo, “She never took her eyes off of us, yet she didn’t approach or beg for food.” The store’s owners confronted her and sent her running away along the pavement. She vanished after making it clear that she was terrified. The couple only discovered the dog is pregnant when they were returning home. They stopped and gave her something to eat as a result. However, Anderson’s wife had such compassion for the defenseless dog that she even attempted to pet it and give it food from her hand to win the animal’s trust.

But they both understood that they simply could not leave her there, so they decided to take the dog with them. The instant the dog realized she was safe and was receiving comfort from a total stranger, she became so overcome with emotion that she began to cry. The touching event was captured on camera by Anderson! The dog was finally given the name Poppy. “Honestly, she was a lot more peaceful than I imagined,” the man said. “We just kind of waited at that time for Poppy to settle down a bit.” Poppy had tears streaming out of her eyes when I started to record the footage of my wife consoling her. That’s something I don’t believe I’ve ever witnessed in a dog, and it had a real impact.

The dog was later taken to the veterinarian by the two kind folks. She had a few fleas, but otherwise, she was in excellent shape. To find someone to adopt Poppy, Anderson and his wife chose to foster her for a few days. But these few days were sufficient for them to fall deeply in love with and keep Poppy.

Poppy is the kind of dog who adores receiving affection, according to Anderson. Poppy will remain here with us. We are constantly learning more about her and gaining his trust. There are worse things in life than being huge foster failures, though! ”
