Autumn has returned in all its glory once more, which means just three things: Everything has a flavor of pumpkin spice, Walmart has its Christmas items out, and a free spirit will not spare even a freshly raked mound of leaves from their attention.

According to Ogden, Utah homeowner Kent Petersen, “Butch volunteered to assist when I just had just completed raking leaves,” pointing to the Siberian Husky you see sprinting through an enormous pile of leaves.

This has got to be one of the cutest videos that have ever been made, not only because of Butch’s excitement but also because it is evidence that some of life’s best joys do not cost anything at all. It seems that this is what genuine happiness looks like, and it’s easy to spread!

Butch’s smile belies the fact that he is having the time of his life as he runs and jumps across a mountain of fallen leaves. It inspires the inner child in all of us to want to play along with him. He keeps coming back for more, hopping about like a joyful bunny when he is in and out of the pile.

When you were younger, don’t you remember how much fun it was to run and leap through a pile of leaves? It was worth the additional effort just for the pure enjoyment of doing so. I believe that Butch has a lot of valuable lessons for all of us to learn. Enjoy life to the fullest and have fun. Watching this clip and then forwarding it to a friend is important because the world needs more people with Butch’s sense of independence and enjoyment.
