When Lollipop was 8 months old, she was discovered wandering around by herself close to a car wash. Some of the workers tied her up so she wouldn’t go into the surrounding busy road and then hung out with her all day, growing more and more in love with her. Cathy Officee asked about Lollipop as she stopped at the car wash and went over to pet the cute animal. Officee agreed to accept the pit bull right away after hearing compliments from all of her new acquaintances who pointed out that she appeared to be abandoned or lost.

Officee finally conceded that Lollipop had no one looking for her after scanning for a microchip, driving around the area where she was discovered, posting all over the internet, and posting missing dog announcements at nearby shelters. She then adopted Lollipop into her family. By the end of the five days, Officee said to The Dodo, “I was SO in love with her that I was relieved no one had claimed her and there was no prospect of me finding her a family.”

Lollipop, who is now 3 years old, adores every member of her family. She frequently follows her puppy brother Isaac about and tries to stay as close to her mother as she can. Lollipop and her family recently moved in with Officee’s mother and her three dogs, giving them even more family to cherish. Lollipop has grown especially protective of her grandmother.

Officee’s mother is 90 years old and has become very frail. She travels with a walker and frequently needs to stop for breaks. Officee has recently started noticing that Lollipop is always right alongside her mom when she is up and moving around and that she will quickly stand or lie down in front of her if she pauses to take a break.

Officee remarked, “We’re not sure if Lolli wants her to go back and sit down or if she’s standing by in case Mom collapses. Whatever the reasons, anytime Grandma is up and about, Lollipop is too, and as a result, the two have developed the most adorable connection.

There are always dogs around because my mother has three dogs and I have two, Officee remarked. Lollipop is the only one who interferes with Mom. Lollipop is constantly around, guarding her and keeping an eye on her to make sure she arrives at her destination safely, regardless of the time of day or where her grandma is going.

A large group of people joined together to ensure Lollipop’s safety when she was initially discovered, and it appears that Lollipop is now just returning the favor to the ones she cares about the most.
