A touching photo of a female dog rescuing her 10-day-old puppy from a house fire recently went viral on the Internet. After the house fell, this mother put her life on the line several times to get all of her puppies to safety. Regardless of the fire, a German Shepherd named Amanda marched back and forth between the house and the chimney truck, protecting her puppies one by one!
The fire in Santa Rosa de Temuco, Chile, was devastating, destroying the entire house. She and her puppy were rushed to the vet, but one of her puppies, Amparo, died as a result of severe burns. Her four pups, on the other hand, are doing well.
When the veterinarian tried to ask the puppies to leave Amanda to care for them, Amanda defended her puppies, according to veterinarian Felipe Lara. She eventually gave in to the vet and sought medical attention for her injured puppy, but she refused to let the dying Amparo out of her sight.
Amanda reminds us of mothers’ unconditional love for their children and how they never abandon or even risk their lives to save their children when they are in danger.
