Mama dogs are usually the focus of the internet’s attention when it comes to animals with nurturing qualities. Dogs, in comparison to cats, are much more expressive of their emotions. People appreciate it when their feelings are returned.
But that doesn’t rule out the possibility of cats being equally sweet and nurturing. Take a look at what’s going on here. This mama cat is taking a shine to this puppy, as seen on the LundKids channel. To keep it warm, it’s wrapped in a blanket. There are several puppies, as is usually the case with puppies.
In this video, the family is introducing this puppy to new people. It’s nice to know everyone around you when you’ve just arrived in the world. This puppy may be looking for its mother. But where has Mama Dog gone? If there is one, she doesn’t appear to be in the area. For all we know, she could be regaining her strength in another room.
However, there is a mama nearby. She isn’t a dog at all. The family cat is presented a few frames later. She’s sitting in a box with some of her newborn kittens, and the puppy seems to pique her interest. he was so intrigued by the puppy that the girl holding it allowed her to examine it more closely.
They were understandably hesitant to introduce the newborn puppy to a cat. However, they may have miscalculated how friendly this cat is. They place the puppy in the box with her and her two kittens after some sniffing and inspection. And, to their amazement, the cat was completely fine with the puppy staying with them. She didn’t seem antagonistic or uneasy in the least. Perhaps a little befuddled at first, but eventually warmed up to it.
“Warmed up to it” may be an understatement. She decides the puppy needs to be cared for by a mother after observing it. She already has two kittens to look after, so she might as well let this one join them. The puppy frantically searches for a suitable location. Mama cat now treats the stranger as if he or she were one of her own, and she adorably adjusts her body so that they can all sleep on her.
In Mama’s cardboard box, two kittens and a puppy now share living quarters. The cat is probably thinking, “Well, he’s one of mine now.” Cats playing mama to puppies isn’t as unusual as it may appear.
