While on a business trip to Belize, photographer Wesley White rescued the life of a starving dog right there at the exact time. He wanted to photograph and explore the gorgeous island. With limited free time, he wanted to make the most of the amazing trip. He opted to kayak to the small island of Thatch Cay on the first day of his expedition.

When he arrived on the island, he discovered a hungry dog in a fishing pond. The poor dog was so emaciated that you could easily see his bones in the images, but he was sympathetic. Wesley added, “I watched him wag his tail.” Wesley requested assistance from others, but no one responded. If the dog was left there, he didn’t think he’d last another day. He had to save the dog right away.

So he returned to the hotel with the dog in the kayak. He will not be able to keep the dog for long if he does not assist him. He requested assistance as soon as he arrived at the hotel. Thankfully, compassionate folks were willing to assist. They gave the dog food and took him to the veterinarian.

Wesley could not spend much time with the dog because he only had 36 hours before he had to leave Belize. Wesley continued to receive calls from veterinarians informing him that the puppy was recuperating and ready to be placed in foster care. After two months with the foster home, the dog was able to fly to Dallas to meet Wesley.
Winston is the dog’s new name. Now he lives happily with his owner and pals in Wesley’s home. See how Wesley was reunited with a starving puppy by chance. Wesley is a true hero in every sense of the word. For additional information, watch the video below and let us know what you think.
