Lou, a three-year-old Coonhound, has always believed she was unique, but now she has proof! Lou has the most unique ears of any dog you’ll ever see. They fall well past her neck, giving her a distinct and endearing look.
Lou was certified as having the longest ears of any surviving dog in 2020. She will be included in the Guinness World Records 2022 book, with many other record-breakers, including a cat and dog combo riding a scooter. Even though Lou is a new superstar, her mother claims she has been acting like one since she was a puppy.
Paige Olsen fell in love with Lou’s ears the moment she met her. She had no idea those ears would bring her puppy into the limelight. Instead, she saw them as a cute, unique characteristics. During the COVID-19 pandemic, however, Olsen decided to take a closer look at the dog’s ears.
Lou’s earlobes measure 34 centimeters in length (13.38 inches). As a result, Olsen applied to Guinness World Records with his measurements. On July 30th, 2020, the company confirmed her record, stating that she is linked to the former record holder.
Lou, on the other hand, is the live dog with the longest ears, not the all-time champion. Tigger, a Bloodhound, has the world’s longest ears, measuring 34.9 centimeters (13.75 inches) and 34.2 centimeters (13.5 inches).
Lou is ecstatic to learn that she has been included in the new Guinness World Records book. Olson thinks that her victory will encourage other dog owners to appreciate their pet’s characteristics. Lou has never been held back by her enormous ears.
Lou’s ears, according to Olsen, aren’t bothering her medically. She inspects them regularly and cleans them as needed, just like she does with her other floppy-eared dogs. Lou is one of three black and tan Coonhounds she has, but none of them have Lou’s magnificent ears. Lou also wears a cute “snood” to keep her ears warm in the winter.
Lou is, after all, just a dog who deserves the same amount of love as any other canine. Her ears make her unique, but Olsen would appreciate her regardless of her appearance.
