While her owner was diving off the coast of Australia, Sailor, a boat dog received a surprise guest.

It’s amazing how you can make friends in the most unexpected locations. Last month, this Labrador retriever named Sailor gave a beautiful kiss to a whale shark that came up to visit her boat.
Jade Pursell, 28, was diving with a buddy in Australia’s Ningaloo Reef on Sept. 23 when a 22-foot whale shark (the world’s largest fish) walked up to their boat, according to PEOPLE.

That’s when the curious Sailor sees the spotted shark sticking its head out of the water in front of him. The shark hangs out at the back of the boat for a while, until the 8-year-old dog gives the fish a kiss despite Pursell’s warnings.
“Oh my God!” exclaims the speaker. Pursell exclaims in awe as she records the wonderful footage.
“Sailor had never previously encountered a whale shark. I had always hoped she would, but that was much beyond my wildest dreams “According to People, Pursell stated. “I was ecstatic to watch Sailor interact with a whale shark. Animals are incredible, and everything went perfectly.”

She went on to claim that Sailor is likely the only dog in the world who has ever kissed a whale shark and that it wasn’t by chance. She believes the shark was aware that Sailor was on board and was eager to meet him.
After all, the shark did spend quite a bit of time near the boat. Greetings to new acquaintances!
