Staff at an IKEA store in Catania, Italy, have gone above and beyond to provide a home for canines in need.
Customers have been overwhelmingly positive in their feedback.

Taccia discovered that the company had chosen to open its doors to homeless canines in the area to offer them refuge from the elements. And the welcome offered more than just a safe refuge.
“IKEA employees and customers feed and nurture the dogs regularly,” Taccia added. “Some of the dogs have even found their way into the homes of our customers.”

Taccia was moved by the store’s generosity and captured the moment on video:
Although IKEA’s Catania store does not appear to publicly publicize its policy of allowing needy dogs in, it has had a significant impact on consumers like Taccia. Another customer, Beppe Liotta, was enthralled by the store’s dog-friendly policy.

“Seeing dogs cuddled in the IKEA display room gave me a great emotion of affection and tremendous happiness,” Liotta told The Dodo.
Many others have experienced the same experience, as seen by a quick scan of Instagram photos taken at Catania’s IKEA:

IKEA has a long history of animal welfare; in the past, the firm partnered with Home For Hope on a campaign to encourage pet adoption by exhibiting cardboard cutouts of shelter dogs in its stores.
Even yet, beating the real thing is difficult.
