The two canines had no idea they would be abandoned by their family, who had given up on caring for them any longer when AJ and his brother Toby arrived at Carson Animal Shelter. Both canines were happy and relaxed till they were separated from one another and their familiar environment. Their house was replaced by obnoxious barking and a chilly kennel filled with strangers.
When the dogs first arrived, they “did wonderfully walking on a leash close to one other,” but now that they are isolated, they are “confused and lonely and missing each other and home,” as detailed by the group Saving Carson Shelter Pups, which has launched an online campaign to get the dogs back together. After being taken from his sibling, six-year-old AJ was particularly hard-struck and cried in his kennel out of fear. The video of AJ sobbing in his kennel quickly became the center of attention.
According to Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, “AJ is 100% pure lovely, kind, loving beauty. He likes other dogs and misses his sibling. He needs your assistance, he’s shutting down, and he has a cold. The film was an instant hit, and within days of its distribution, the rescue community had organized to prevent AJ and his brother from being put down. When he was retrieved from the shelter, AJ’s tears would soon be exchanged for a joyful wagging tail. Rescuers were there to capture video of the man leaving the refuge in freedom.
“This beauty captured the hearts of a lot of people and today he was lucky enough to take his FREEDOM Walk out of the Shelter, even while he is fighting with a cold,” Saving Carson Shelter Dogs stated at the time of his rescue. He was saved, and we are hopeful that tomorrow the same rescue team will assist the one saving his Bonded Brother TOBY so they may be reunited. Since they were split up, they have both experienced severe depression.
And indeed, that is what took place. Soon after, AJ was taken in by a kind new family. Better more, Toby will also be adopted by the family! Thanks to the rescue efforts of numerous people who didn’t give up on the two dogs, it was a joyful ending for them both.
