Most pups would be pleased with a chew toy, but this young German Shepherd appears to be unaware that he is a dog, sucking on a dummy, napping in a pram, and being given a bottle.
When Karma was 12 weeks old, she began imitating her owner’s baby grandson. At five months old, she appears to believe she is a human. The puppy started by stealing dummies from her owner’s grandson, but now she naps in a baby’s pram regularly and even suckles from bottles of milk while sleeping in a onesie.
When her bewildered mutt started imitating her two-year-old grandson, Kayden, her owner Iris Armstrong, 63, from Welling, Kent, found it amusing at first. Even though the puppy is now in a playpen, she still manages to get out to play with her human best buddy.
Karma has a onesie that she wears when she cuddles up to Kayden, and she also interacts with his toys. Iris says the puppy thinks she’s a baby because she’s been slipping into Kayden’s pram and snuggling up with a dummy in her mouth daily.
‘Karma and Kayden are almost like brother and sister at times,’ retired Ms. Armstrong said. ‘She started with dummies when she was three months old; it was a small pink one that she clutched from the side and suckled on like a newborn.’
‘Whenever she gets a bottle, she chews on it and then drinks the milk; it’s rather amusing, so we try not to let her do it too much.’ ‘On top of that, she’s usually attempting to get into Kayden’s pram for a nap and falls asleep there, even though she’s a little too large for it now.’
‘Karma has turned out to be so full of activity that she even escapes when I give her a break in the children’s playpen. whenever she gets away, she sneaks back to play with Kayden, and she gets so delighted whenever she sees him, it’s so wonderful,’ Ms. Armstrong said.
‘She’s usually pinching my grandson’s onesie as well; we put her in it a few times and she now absolutely loves it; she always runs away or poses with it.’ ‘My grandson and Kayden frequently fall asleep together, and I have to cover them both with a blanket and one of their teddies.’
‘She’s like Kayden’s little playmate, and I’m sure they’ll become closest friends as they become older together.’
