Dogs are unable to forget people after they have a link with them, even if it was months or years ago. When a dog smells someone or something familiar, it can assist them to remember who that person is because dogs use smell to measure time. Because our scents begin to disappear the longer we are gone, our dogs become sad when we leave them for extended periods. But when we return, they are excited to see us.

And there is no happier sight than to witness a soldier come home to his faithful companion after spending months away on a mission. After being abroad for several weeks, one soldier was going back home. He was naturally anxious to see his dogs again since he was concerned about how they would react to his homecoming and whether they would even recognize him after all this time.

But as soon as he pushed open the door, all of his worries vanished. Although they were older now than when he last met them, his dogs didn’t forget their father. When they saw him, they were extremely happy. There was a lot of tail wagging and happiness to be had, and seeing the unshakeable love and loyalty that exists between dogs and their owners makes one cry.

The dogs were so glad to see the soldier again that they let out a yelp of happiness! That clearly illustrates the dog’s happiness upon being reunited with its owner after a long period of separation. The best thing about dogs is that they never express irritation or harbor resentment for the passage of time. Simply said, they are glad you are home.
