Our cherished dogs are the ones who miss us most when we have to leave for a long amount of time. Soldiers’ families are well aware that longer deployments are frequently a part of the job. They may be anticipated, but they’re still not the most pleasant things to go through. Additionally, because they are unable to understand what is happening, soldiers’ dogs may find it much more perplexing.
Infantry soldier Michael Yost’s family and two pets were left behind at their house in Germany when he was deployed abroad. It was rough on Jessica and their two dogs, especially Michael’s Lab-Collie mix. After Michael went for his deployment, Fruitloops was feeling somewhat frail. The sad dog spent some time lying on top of a plastic container that contained Michael’s clothing and a military sleeping blanket to find some solace during his owner’s absence.
Jessica felt terrible for Fruitloops when she saw him napping on top of the clothing container. She captured the tragic moment on camera, uploaded it to the internet, and it quickly gained popularity. “It broke my heart when I found Fruitloops curled up in the container with Michael’s old clothing,” she recalled to MSN.
The canine’s owner claimed that she did her best to make him feel better by chatting with him. No matter how hard she tried to explain to Fruitloops that Michael would be coming back in the fall, she knew the dog wouldn’t comprehend. Given that Fruitloops and Michael only became best friends after Michael and Jessica got engaged, their relationship was incredibly lovely. She had jokingly told the soldier that their relationship would end if the dog did not warm up to him. Seeing as how they have something truly special together, that wasn’t an issue.
