Yes, Charlie has other toys that he can play with whenever he wants. But it’s usually the plush duck named Mr. Quackers with whom he chooses to spend his time.
Charlie’s owner, Alicia, told The Dodo, “I observed he would take it wherever he went and even slept with it at night.” “I’d never seen him act like this before with a teddy animal.” They’re practically inseparable.
Alicia and her husband decided it would be fun to prepare a special surprise for the duck, so they arranged for a gigantic and fully animated version of Mr. Quackers to visit them.
Mr. Quackers was played by Alicia’s husband, who happened upon a wonderful Mr. Quackers outfit at a store.
Charlie was ecstatic when he saw his favorite toy come to life.
“It couldn’t have gone any better!” exclaims the narrator. Alicia expressed her thoughts. “As soon as Charlie saw the life-size Mr. Quackers, his tail began wagging at such a rapid rate that his entire body began to move.”
It was a memorable occasion.
Charlie would have been perfectly satisfied if his beloved toy had never come to life. But witnessing how thrilled he was to meet Mr. Quackers in person made it all worthwhile for his owners.
