Golden retrievers are well-liked for being lovable, joyful canines who enjoy spending time with families. Every time they interact with infants, they will demonstrate their tenderness and softness. Goldies are not only great with kids, but they may also be wonderful with toddlers. Children who live with golden retrievers as pets, for instance, are more likely to feel responsible as adults.

This is Harlow, the Golden Retriever who helped get Carter, the owner’s son, ready for his new position as a big brother. Luckily, long before Carter arrived, Harlow was the first “child” of her owner’s family. So that he could recognize whether anything was positive or negative for Carter.

When Carter was brought home from the hospital, Harlow gave his owners the very finest example of what a sociable golden retriever should look like. Harlow never considered sibling rivalry. Instead, the dog continued to be happy and wag her tail as she greeted the new member of the family.

It’s amazing how Harlow embraced her new duty as a nanny dog without realizing that she was preparing Carter for his upcoming big brother role. Just to make sure that her human brother was secure, Harlow spent hours resting next to Carter.

When Carter was a toddler, the dog was eager to accompany him through every stage of life and even showed him how to play with ordinary toys. They would ride in the wagon, jump on the trampoline, and go for walks together. Every encounter Carter had with Harlow was enjoyable. When Carter turned two, events changed course. Carter began feeding, washing, and walking her as the siblings switched roles. Carter had learned how to be gentle with others, so he was prepared to greet his sister.
