Deputy Trevor Reeves became close friends with a stray Pit Bull named Stevie Wonder while the dog was still housed at the animal shelter. Because of a degenerative eye illness, Stevie was going blind, and Deputy Reeves would spend hours caring for the kind youngster. When Stevie was eventually able to find a home with a loving family, the deputy was happy to see that his friend’s struggles were finally coming to an end.

Years later, Deputy Reeves was in a different city when he received the most tragic piece of news — Stevie had been savagely mauled by some dogs. The news broke Deputy Reeves’ heart. After the event, his family experienced significant mental anguish, and as a result, they decided to give him up for adoption. At that point, Deputy Reeves made contact with a trusted friend and pleaded with him to look for Stevie.

We watch Deputy Reeves arrive in town to pay Stevie a visit when he discovered that Stevie had survived the assault in this video. Stevie detects the presence of his old friend the blind dog and runs up to cuddle him, even though he is unsure whether or not the blind dog still recognizes him. As he cradles Stevie’s bruised body with his broken heart, Deputy Reeves fights back the tears that threaten to fall from his eyes.

In a later part of the video, Deputy Reeves’s eyes well up with tears of anguish as he speaks eloquently about the significance of Stevie to him. Although Stevie’s road has been full of twists and turns, he is in good hands at this point. He is doing well in the foster family where he has been placed, and Deputy Reeves will keep a close eye on him at all times to ensure that he gets the life he deserves. What a remarkable loving connection they have!
